Trialling V-Go with Sharon!

Meet Sharon – she’s been living with type 2 diabetes for 22 years.

Over the years, Sharon tried to gain control of her elevated blood sugar by diet, exercise and through tablets. However, nothing seemed to have an impact for her.

In early 2020, Sharon discovered  V-Go® Insulin Patch Pump for type 2 diabetes through Facebook, and found the concept of a discreet, wearable pump interesting. Through the help of one of our AMSL Diabetes representatives, Sharon started a one-month no-obligation trial on V-Go with approval from her healthcare professional.

We spoke to her about her experience trialling V-Go.

Q: What were your initial thoughts on V-Go?

Within 24 hours I had the best fasting blood sugar reading that I have had in years! I was excited to have control of my blood sugar. I liked the ease of being able to quickly click my V-Go to administer insulin. In the past I would ‘sneak off’ to give myself an insulin injection when eating with company. V-Go has helped to make the process of taking insulin simple and discreet.

V-Go is simple to use and discreet to wear

Q: What are your thoughts now?

My blood sugar is now very well controlled for the first time since I can remember. Each day, I fill my V-Go, place it on one of the insertions sites and I am off to live a normal day! The convenience of V-Go has changed my life in ways I cannot put into words.

Q: What would you say to others who are deciding to trial V-Go?

V-Go has made such a difference in my life and I believe it could do the same for so many others living with type 2 diabetes as well. For the first time in many years I feel in control of my blood sugar levels!

V-Go automatically delivers background insulin throughout the day, but simply click at mealtimes for 2 additional units of insulin
